Career Exploration Report
For the Career Exploration Report, you’re going to identify a career that sounds interesting to you. Then you’ll work on locating someone who works in that field, maybe a family friend or a friend of a friend, or a colleague of your boss, or someone your professor recommends. Conduct a brief interview with that person–by phone or email or in-person–asking questions about the pathway to that career and about anything you want to know about the pros and cons of the job. Then, take your notes from the interview and write a brief report (around 500 words) about what you learned. Your last step is to think about the gaps between where you are right now and where you need to be in four years, in terms of being prepared to take the next step. Use your last paragraph to articulate those gaps and some ideas for how best to fill them.
