Character Argument
Write an argumentative letter from one character to another character arguing one of the topics listed. Remember to include an introduction with a thesis statement, provide ample evidence to support your claim, address counterclaims (some might argue…, but…), end with a conclusion that summarizes the thesis in a fresh way. The letter should be at least four paragraphs in length: (1) introduction with thesis statement, (2-3) body of two paragraphs or more presenting evidence to support the claim and addressing counterclaim(s), (4) conclusion paragraph summarizing claim in a fresh way and making a suggestion for the future. Collaboration: Participate in peer editing and revising using the comment section of the Google doc. Leave the comments in the document so that Ms. Webster can see evidence of collaboration. Students who wish to work together may write a pair of letters that are exchanged between two characters.
