Computer Mediated Communication
Objectives: To compare and contrast the benefits and disadvantages of face to face (FTF) communication and computer mediated communication (CMC) in the interpersonal context. To take a position on benefits and disadvantages using logically persuasive techniques and academic evidence. Directions: Below are two positions. One is the pro-CMC position (affirmative) and the other is the anti-CMC position (negative). You will conduct academically-appropriate research (no Googling or Wikipedia) to determine which side you agree with and then write a brief essay explaining to me WHY you are taking that position. The databases in our library are the very best places to find academic research (Lexis Nexis, CQ Researcher, EbscoHost, Newspaper databases, etc.). Please remember that Wood is a valuable source as well but will NOT count as one of the three required primary sources! Develop arguments in favor of your position, which is either: Position A (Affirmative): Over the last 25 years, computer mediated communication has strengthened our interpersonal communication dynamics. or Position B (Negative): Over the last 25 years, computer mediated communication has deteriorated our interpersonal communication dynamics. Search for specific key arguments related to issues in interpersonal communication such as emotional expression, nonverbal cues/emoticons/emojis, long-distance, anonymity/authenticity of communication, attraction, flirting/sexual fantasy/sexual behavior/sexting, frequency of communication, falling in love, self-disclosure, rapidity of relationships, decreased inhibition, dating & dating sites, social media, Skype/Facetime, conflict management, flaming, permanence, vulnerable social groups, media richness theory and channel expansion theory. Take careful notes about what you read (including detailed citation information of each source used) Write a 3-page minimum (double-spaced) paper, based on your research, indicating which position you are taking and why. You must address a minimum of 3 related issues from the list above to argue.

Our experts will write you a top-quality paper and revise it an unlimited number of times until you're 100% satisfied - or offer a refund.
