Democratic Theorist

Instructions:Write a 5-page original paper on one democratic theorist (and the respective reading). In your paper you should critically analyze one key idea by the respective theorist based on a close reading of the assigned text. Provide page references (page numbers in parentheses are sufficient) whenever you paraphrase or whenever your quote. Please be sure to properly identify quotes with quotation marks; any 3 consecutive words (aside from technical terms) from another source constitute a quote. The papers should be formatted as follows: double-spaced, 1” margins, 12-point Times New Roman, page numbers on each page, no extra spacing between paragraphs.Your emphasis in the short paper should be on developing an argument through a close reading of the text. That is, organize your paper around a question, which you state in the introduction along with the thesis. Develop the thesis in the body of the paper. Do not ask a question that calls for summarizing the entire reading. Do not ask empirical questions. Do not advance empirical claims. Ask and discuss a normative question, which leads to a critical evaluation and thorough interpretation of the text.
