You have been newly hired as a junior policy analyst for a national agency (i.e. political department for a specific country). Your boss has tasked you with writing a policy brief so that they can make a coherent argument at an upcoming meeting on the issue. Assignment Objectives The objectives of this assignment are as follows: Gain a general understanding of the nature and causes of an issue, and the policy options in addressing the problem Develop your research skills Develop your analytical skills in assessing the merits of two or more policy solutions Develop your written communication skills Assignment Topic Development/Inequality: Sustainable Development Goal #3 (ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages) in the Central African Republic For the topic, a country has been identified; this is the country for which you have been hired (i.e. you are the junior policy analyst for the senior government minister responsible for that issue in that country). As such, you need to be thinking about the issue, and the relevant policy options, from that perspective. This does not mean you need to think exclusively about the issue from that perspective, but you need to keep your audience (the senior minister from that country) in mind. Assignment Specifics: Your policy brief is to be 1500-2500 words in length, typed and single-spaced. Your brief must include at least one table or figure (i.e. graph or map). In conducting your research, and writing your brief, you must consult and refer to at least four (4) academic sources (i.e. peer-reviewed books, peer-reviewed journal articles, government-issued reports, non-governmental reports).
