Write a short (3 pages, typed in 12pt., Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins, double spaced) essay, answering the question:    What do we need to do in order to decolonize dominant notions of gender and sexuality in our society? Your answer must meet four requirements: 1.     Your answer must reflect your understanding of the notion of decolonization. 2.     You must apply the notion of intersectionality to your analysis.   3.     In your answer you must analyze at least one of the themes in the list: (1) the relationship among hetero-patriarchy, gender binary, and settler colonialism (2) Anzaldua’s concept of borderlands 4.     In your answer you must analyze at least one of the themes in the list: (1) the notion of pinkwashing as colonial violence (2) gender and racial capitalism  Please note 1. Your essay must have an original thesis (i.e., argument) supported by strong evidence from the readings, films, and lectures. 2. Your essay must reflect your deep understanding of the notion of intersectionality and decolonization explained by readings and lectures. Make sure to provide your (brief) definitions of decolonization and intersectionality in your essay and explain how your essay reflects the notions. 3. Your essay must reflect your understanding of all the lectures and discussions.
