Mascots and Misrepresentation
-Pick only one problematic mascot to analyze within this paper. High School mascots/logos are an option, too. -In your own words, define noble-savage and connect to this topic. -Analyze the visual aspects of the mascot/logo. In what ways are the visualizations problematic and riddled with stereotypes? If you chose an example that changed its mascot/logo, be sure to compare the new version with the old. -Analyze the performative aspects of the mascot/logo. With this, you will need to search for performances of the actual mascot or descriptions of a performance. Do also understand the performance of a mascot/logo can also extend to fans dressing up. In what ways are these forms of “playing” and “dressing up” performance-based examples of the noble-savage? -Cite sources properly (see below) and include a bibliography.
