Nodal Analysis
Project Proposal Project 2: Nodal Analysis Project statement Nodal analysis is an important technique for petroleum reservoir and production engineers, that helps with analyzing and evaluating decisions about the production. It can be beneficial to assess the well deliverability and performance. Nodal analysis depends on the well inflow relationship and the outflow relationship. after evaluating and analyzing, nodal analysis can help with defining the best operating pressure and flowrate for optimum production. Project objectives- To understand the basics of nodal analysis- To use the knowledge understood from nodal analysis to analyze the application of it, which is to design the best tubing size, valves, and etc. accordingly with the optimum operational conditions.- To find the link between the nodal analysis results and the well completion.
Description: The students are assigned to review the nodal analysis, describe the IPR relationship, the OPR relationship, and discuss the different methods of each relationship. Also, it is expected that the students understand the application of the nodal analysis. Task distribution: Tasks week- Discuss the required analysis data.- PVT analysis for two phase.- Inflow Performance Relationship1-Fetkovich method2 – Vogel method3 -Standing method-Discuss the productivity index.- Discuss water cut 1- Outflow performance relationship- Design and analyze pressure of the vertical two-phase flow.- Design and analyze pressure of the horizontal two-phase flow.2- Deliver a sensitivity analysis.-Determine the optimum conditions and tubing design.- A case study for tubing design is to be discussed. 3• The students groups are expected to distribute each week tasks among themselves.
