Promoting Ethical Organizational Culture

You will imagine you are the CEO of the Intel company. You will be creating a two-minute video for your employees that is meant to promote an ethical organizational culture in your company.    Video. The video needs to attract employee attention as well as cause them to engage in ethical behavior while they work. The content of the video can vary greatly and does not need to include you or other people. It could be a video recording of a Powerpoint slide presentation, an animated video, or a video of real people. The video should be no more than 2 minutes (but can be less than 2 minutes). Paper. In addition to creating a video, you must write a two-page single-spaced paper in 12-point font that explains why your video will be effective. In order to write a persuasive paper, you will need to address: How the video captures or conveys the firm’s values and/or code of conduct. This requires considering the information available on the company’s website (code of conduct, corporate social responsibility, etc.). Make sure you use specific evidence from the firm website to support your claims. You will want to make sure that your claims regarding the effectiveness of your video are supported by at least one concept from our class. You may use concepts and/or research from outside of our class too but I will be looking to see if you have conveyed a grasp of course concepts. Company Assignment. In class, you randomly chose a company for the midterm and you should use this company (or the parent company) for the final paper.  Data. You should look for descriptions of the organization’s culture, work environment and rules on the company’s website. This information often appears in the company’s code of conduct (sometimes referred to as the code of ethics) and the corporate social reports (sometimes referred to as a citizenship report, stakeholder report or sustainability report). For your paper, you will want to use content from the firm to justify your choices. You must also include citations for course materials, direct quotes, paraphrased information, and facts in your video and your paper (video citations should appear at the end of your written paper). I don’t care what method citations you use so long as I can find the exact page or website where you found the information. I want the full website address.
