To Be Midwestern

America was long considered to be the land of opportunity—a place where immigrants could make a better life for themselves and their families. Is this still true of America today? 2. Why or why not is it important to be a nation of immigrants? 3. How can we change our policies and practices to reflect the original intention of a land of opportunity? The overall focus of your analysis of the text is entirely up to you.
Use the unit question as a guide for the entire essay or only one small part. Feel free to bounce any ideas off of me. Requirements: At least FOUR properly integrated quotations and/or paraphrases with citations. Your essay should be 2-3 pages. That’s no less than 2.5 pages, and I do mean that half fully. It should be well into the second half of the third page. MLA format, typed, doubled-spaced, 1” margins, 12-point type, Times New Roman, creative title. A Works Cited List is NOT required for this assignment. However, you should still use proper in-text citations when quoting or paraphrasing your single source.
