Research Paper/ Argumentative Topic: Examine your argumentative essay and consider what information might be missing. Where can you expand? What can you add? What needs further support? For many of you, this will mean adding additional background information on the topic. It may also involve slightly broadening your focus. Step Two – Research After determining what your paper lacks, you will need to find additional sources to fill in the blanks. You are required to have 6-10 sources for your finished research paper. Step Three – Drafting When drafting, keep in mind that you most likely don’t want to simply stick on more paragraphs at the end of your essay. Add facts, paraphrases, quotes, and background information throughout your paper. Consider moving paragraphs around to make it flow more smoothly.
